Wednesday Wonderful 4.04.12

Wednesday Category

This week on the Wednesday Wonderful… Cupcakes, Wollstonecrafts, Songza, and Star Wars. Intrigued? Read on.

Cupcake Ipsum (via CrazyEgg)

If you’re tired of using old Latin Lorem Ipsum to put dummy text in a website or document, sweeten your text up with Cupcake Ipsum. I mean, I might read a whole website of this:

Cupcake ipsum dolor sit. Amet candy canes macaroon sugar plum danish tiramisu muffin liquorice I love. Apple pie fruitcake jelly. Chocolate cake applicake marzipan carrot cake bonbon powder.

If cake isn’t your cup of tea, check out the CrazyEgg article for other flavors of generator, including Liquor, Bacon, Bluth, and Chuck Norris.

Wollstonecraft on Kickstarter (via NoirBettie)

A young adult book about Ada Lovelace and Mary Shelley where they solve crimes? Count me in. From the Kickstarter page:

11 year old Ada has a problem: her governess, Miss Coverlet, has quit her job to go get married (a dumb idea if ever there was one, if you ask Ada) and her new tutor Percy (“Peebs”) is a total drip.  She’d rather be left to her own devices – literally – inventing things and solving math problems and ignoring people altogether.

She’s also forced to study alongside the imaginative girlie-girl Mary, who’s always going on about romance and exotic travels.  Fortunately, Mary’s appetite for adventure leads her to propose the two girls open a detective agency, and when an heiress shows up with a case about a missing diamond, it’s the perfect puzzle to coax Ada out of her shell.

If this doesn’t get funded, I will be so sad. So go chip in, hmm? EDIT: It’s funded! But go chip in anyway, as everything over the target amount will go towards additional books, more illustrations, and even maybe a game!

Songza

I’ve liked a lot of music services out there. Pandora is great, but it gets repetitive. Grooveshark is perfect for when you want something specific, but the Radio function isn’t quite the best yet. And then I discovered Songza. I basically listened to The Revolutionary Daughters of Kate Bush for an entire work day and didn’t hear the same song twice. I can’t wait to discover something new tomorrow. My kingdom for an iPhone app. EDIT: OH MY GOD, THERE’S AN IPHONE APP! LOVE IT!

Etsy Find of the Week: Galaxy Yoga by RobOsborne

I don’t even have the words for this one. Yoga. And Star Wars. Two of my loves. In one piece. Divine.
